About $uicideboy$

$uicideboy$ is a hip-hop duo from New Orleans, Louisiana, formed in 2013 by first cousins Ruby da Cherry and Scrim. They built their name on SoundCloud with abrasive, self-produced beats that pull from punk rap, emo rap, cloud rap, and trap, and they did it fully independent: everything they release goes out through G*59 Records, the label they own and operate themselves. That DIY streak is the whole story of the group. What started as an underground upload run grew into one of the most popular acts in underground rap, with a catalog that reached 47 projects by 2022.

The climb was steady and self-built. Their first EP landed on SoundCloud in June 2014, and a 2015 collaboration EP with South Florida rapper Pouya broke them through into the underground spotlight. A 2016 EP with EDM producer Getter put them on a Billboard rap chart for the first time at number 17. The 2018 debut studio album became their first top-ten entry on the Billboard 200 at number 9, and four more studio albums followed it into the top ten, with Thy Kingdom Come reaching a career-best number 4 in 2025. The sound stays rooted in 1990s Memphis rap, with Three 6 Mafia as a clear touchstone, and Juicy J embraced the duo early enough to bring them in to produce his own mixtapes. A 2019 collaborative EP with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker showed how far the style could travel.

Live, $uicideboy$ turned their following into a touring institution. The Grey Day Tour launched in July 2019 as a nationwide run from Seattle to Los Angeles with openers including Denzel Curry, Turnstile, City Morgue, Pouya, and Germ, and it returned in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with rotating lineups of G*59 label acts and guests. Demand has carried the duo across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and the 2025 edition ended with a homecoming stop in New Orleans. Grey Day is the run that anchors the duo's live calendar and the one most fans have in mind when $uicideboy$ tickets come up.

Who are the members of $uicideboy$?

$uicideboy$ is a two-member operation made up of first cousins. Ruby da Cherry, born Aristos Petrou, grew up in Metairie, Louisiana, started on violin at seven and drums at ten, and played in punk bands before the duo took off. Scrim, born Scott Arceneaux Jr. in Marrero, Louisiana, came up as a DJ and produces the bulk of the catalog himself, with production credits for artists including Denzel Curry and Juicy J. Both members release solo work on the side: Scrim has put out solo albums including Lonely Boy in 2024, and Ruby records under his Duckboy persona. The cousin pairing plus a fully self-produced catalog is the engine behind the $uicideboy$ sound.

What are $uicideboy$'s most popular songs?

What awards or certifications has $uicideboy$ earned?

$uicideboy$ built their recognition through RIAA certifications and chart milestones rather than award-show trophies. The notable ones:
  • First Platinum single: ...And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around passed one million sales in November 2021 and has since reached 3x Platinum.
  • Platinum album: Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation (2022) is certified Platinum, and the 2018 debut, the 2021 follow-up, and the 2024 album are all certified Gold.
  • Chart record: five studio albums have reached the Billboard 200 top ten, topping out at number 4 with Thy Kingdom Come in 2025.
  • Industry nod: Billboard named the duo one of its Dance 15 Artists to Watch in 2017.

What is $uicideboy$ fan culture like?

$uicideboy$ carry one of the most devoted cult followings in hip-hop, and the Grey Day Tour is where it gathers. Launched in 2019 as a nationwide run from Seattle to Los Angeles, Grey Day became the duo's flagship tour and returned in 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with rotating bills that mix G*59 Records label mates like Germ, Shakewell, Chetta, and Night Lovell with guests such as Denzel Curry, Turnstile, and City Morgue. Each edition plays like a traveling showcase for the label, and the 2025 run closed with a homecoming show in New Orleans. The bond between $uicideboy$ and their fans runs through the independence of the whole operation: an artist-owned label, self-produced music, and a catalog the two cousins built their own way.
