The Jonas Brothers are an American pop rock band built around three actual brothers: Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas. Formed in 2005 and raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the trio wrote their first record after the family moved to nearby Little Falls. One early recording, Please Be Mine, was all it took for Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg to sign all three as a group, and they nearly went by Sons of Jonas before landing on the name fans know now. The sound, a punchy mix of pop rock, pop punk, and power pop, has been the throughline of every era since.
The breakthrough came through the Disney Channel, where guest appearances turned into starring roles in Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), plus their own series, Jonas. The albums stacked up fast: It's About Time (2006), Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), and Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. In 2008 they became the youngest band on the cover of Rolling Stone, and by 2013 they had sold more than 17 million albums worldwide. The run paused in 2011 for solo projects, restarted with a 2012 show at Radio City Music Hall, and ended with an official split in October 2013. In the years apart, Joe released the solo album Fastlife, Nick toured with his band Nick Jonas & the Administration, and Kevin studied music production.
The reunion era has been just as loud. Sucker arrived on March 1, 2019, and debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the band's first chart-topper and the 34th song ever to open at the top of the chart. Happiness Begins followed that June with the biggest debut week of 2019. The Album (2023), produced by Jon Bellion, and Greetings from Your Hometown (2025) later became the band's seventh and eighth top-ten albums on the Billboard 200. Touring kept pace, from the 92-show Happiness Begins Tour around the globe to Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour and Jonas20, a 2025 run marking two decades of the band. For anyone considering Jonas Brothers tickets, the appeal is a catalog with seven albums and two decades of material behind it.
