Vegas Golden Knights TicketsThe Vegas Golden Knights are a very new team and have proven to become one of the most exciting teams in the league within a very short amount of time. The team is an expansion team that was put together to begin playing in the 2017-18 season. For being a brand-new team in the league, the Vegas Golden Knights were able to show just how golden they are in their first year as a franchise. In that very first season, the team racked up the fifth-best record in the league as well as capturing a division title for the regular season. They then dominated the Western Conference playoffs, ultimately making it all the way to the Stanley Cup finals. Showing this new team was no beginner's luck fluke, the Vegas Golden Knights returned to the post-season for 2018-19. Be sure to get tickets at StubHub to see what the Knights can do this hockey season.
When does the season begin? The preseason begins in mid-September while the regular season begins in early October. The playoff season, should they make it into the post-season lineup, will begin the second week of April and continue into June.
Who is the head coach? The head coach of the Vegas Golden Knights is Gerard Gallant. Prior to coming on as coach for the new team, Gallant is known for being a coach for the Florida Panthers. Before the Panthers, Gallant was head coach for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Gerard Gallant is not only a coach, however. He actually used to play for the Detroit Red Wings as well as finishing his playing career with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
How many home games are there? There are typically 41 home games in the regular season for the Golden Knights. Prior to the beginning of each season, the Knights play a preseason schedule. Following this the 2019-20 regular season starts in early October. This season’s first game is on October 3. Each team plays a number of home series and road games throughout the season, culminating in the postseason that starts in April.
Who are the team's main rivals? It is a bit early in the history of the Golden Knights to have been able to establish a long-standing rivalry. They have, however, had some skirmishes on the ice against the Ottawa Senators.
Who are the team's most well-known players? Two players from the Vegas Golden Knights, Mark Stone and Marc-Andre Fleury, are considered among the best players in the National Hockey League. Mark Stone led the entire league in takeaways for the 2018-2019 season as well as being named a finalist for the Frank J. Selke trophy. The NHL recently ranked Marc-Andre Fleury as the sixth-best goaltender in the league.
What is the home game venue like?T-Mobile Arena had its groundbreaking on May 1st, 2014 and its opening on April 6th, 2016. It holds 15,000 to 20,000 depending on the type of event, including Vegas Golden Knights hockey games. For hockey games, it has a seating capacity of 17,500 fans. The very first hockey games to be played in the arena were for exhibition games with the Los Angeles Kings against the Dallas Stars. The first Vegas Golden Knights’ game was a few days later with the Knights taking on the Arizona Coyotes. The designers take great pride in that every seat in the house is a good one for enjoying a game. To make sure the players are comfortable and ready to give fans their all, the home team locker room is one of the largest and most state-of-the-art in the NHL.
