Tedeschi Trucks Band is an American musical group based in Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2010 by married couple Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. The band emerged from the couple's earlier collaborative project, Soul Stew Revival, which combined members of their respective solo groups during a 2007 tour. Tedeschi, a Boston-born vocalist and guitarist who studied at Berklee College of Music, built a solo career rooted in blues and Americana before opening for acts like The Rolling Stones and B.B. King. Trucks, a Jacksonville native and child prodigy who played his first paid gig at age 11, became a formal member of The Allman Brothers Band in 1999 and appeared twice on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, ranking 16th in 2011. When both put their solo bands on hiatus and merged into one group, they brought together a roster of musicians spanning guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, horns, and vocals into a sound that blends Southern rock, blues, soul, Americana, and jam band improvisation.
The band's debut album, Revelator, arrived in 2011 and won the Grammy Award for Best Blues Album at the 2012 ceremony, a milestone that established the group as a force in modern blues and roots music. Follow-up studio records Made Up Mind (2013) and Let Me Get By (2016) both cracked the Billboard 200 top 15, while Signs (2019) earned recognition as a Favorite Blues Album from AllMusic. In 2022, Tedeschi Trucks Band released I Am the Moon, an ambitious quadruple album featuring 24 original songs issued in four parts across the summer. Their sixth studio album, Future Soul, arrived in 2026. The band's live catalog is equally deep, highlighted by the concert film and album Live from the Fox Oakland (2017) and Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN'), a full performance of the Derek and the Dominos classic recorded with Trey Anastasio in 2019. At the 2015 Lockn' Festival, the band performed a complete tribute to Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen, reuniting original musicians from the 1970 tour alongside guests like Warren Haynes and Eric Clapton collaborator Doyle Bramhall II.
