A rock 'n' roll family affair

Emerging from the Almeda de Osuna neighbourhood of Madrid, the original Sidecars line-up consists of guitarist and vocalist Juancho, Manu on rhythm guitar, bassist Dr. Gerbass and Ruly bringing up the rear on drums. Influenced by the likes of Argentine-Spanish outfit Tequila, The Rolling Stones and the incredible '90s success Los Rodríguez, founded by Argentine legend Andrés Calamaro, Sidecars were in good stead to make awesome music. Indeed, they did just that, with their debut, self-titled album scooping up numerous awards. The project was produced by Pereza frontman turned solo singer-songwriter Leiva, who also happens to be Juancho's brother. A second effort, also produced by Leiva, came in 2010 with the release of 'Zippers', showcasing a developed sound reminiscent of Tom Petty and The Byrds. Collaboration with an industry icon and live recordings

Sidecars took a step away from regular producer Leiva and set to work with British producer Nigel Walker, known for his work as a recording engineer under The Beatles producer George Martin with famous artists such as Aerosmith, Pink Floyd and Elton John. Walker swapped London for Madrid in the early '90s and began a career as a producer, becoming one of the country's most requested and acclaimed, earning over 40 number ones and 3 Grammys with various acts and selling over 4 million records in the process. Walker produced the Sidecars albums 'Crossfire' and 'Against the Ropes', which were released in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Sidecars also recorded and filmed a live concert.
