Born Rory Charles Graham in Uckfield, East Sussex, Rag'n'Bone Man started MCing under the moniker Rag'n'Bonez at age 15. After moving to Brighton, he joined hip-hop collective Rum Committee and started performing on the local hip-hop circuit. In addition to MCing, he continued to practice his singing in private through inspiration from blues musicians such as B.B. King, Al Green and Muddy Waters. Encouraged by his father, he sung at a blues open mic night at age 19 and thrilled audiences with his powerful vocals.
After releasing a number of records with Rum Collective, Rag'n'Bone Man dropped his debut solo EP, Bluestown, through Rumbustious Records in November 2012. Two more EPs, Dog'n'Bone and Put That Soul on Me, followed before Best Laid Plans Records released his fourth EP, Wolves, in October 2014. Wolves charted in multiple countries, peaking at No. 24 on the U.K.'s Official Albums Chart and earning Silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry.
After dropping his fifth EP, Disfigured, Rag'n'Bone Man released two chart-topping singles, "Human" and "Skin," in July 2016 and January 2017 respectively. A debut studio album, Human, followed through Columbia Records in February 2017, topping the charts in multiple countries and earning two triple Platinum, one Platinum and four Gold certifications shortly after its release.

Rag'n'Bone Man's best-selling single, "Human," topped the charts in 20 countries and earned multiple certifications, including quadruple Platinum from the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana and triple Platinum from the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry. The song has featured in several movies, TV series and video games, including the BBC TV series SS-GB and the Netflix documentary film 13TH.
The follow-up single "Skin" also enjoyed global chart success, topping the charts in Slovakia and the Czech Republic and reaching the top 5 in France, Iceland, Poland, Scotland, Slovenia and Croatia. The track received several certifications, including Platinum certification from the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing and Gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry.
