Mitchell Tenpenny is a rising country star who is right at home in the bro country genre. He released his first record, Black Crow, on an indie label, collaborating with the SteelDrivers on the song "Canes Creek." Tenpenny then proved his songwriting mettle by writing a slew of hits for other artists. Granger Smith recorded TenpennyÕs song "If the Boot Fits," which reached No. 6 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Tenpenny also penned the song "All Eyes on Us," which was recorded by Jon Langston and also proved to be a big hit on country radio. Tenpenny has since turned his focus on his own solo career, evolving his sound with touches of blues and soul. In 2017, he released the EP Linden Ave, which charted at No. 10 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart. Tenpenny followed up that success with a full-length album, Telling All My Secrets. Growing up in Nashville, Mitchell Tenpenny knew from an early age that music would be his life thanks in part to his grandmother, Donna Hilley, who was a music publishing executive. Tenpenny learned how to play guitar when he was 13 and began writing songs. In college, Tenpenny briefly wanted to be a football player, but ultimately, he decided that being in a band was more fun. He graduated with a degree in music business. Tenpenny has proved that he has the songwriting and performing talent needed to stand on his own. With a soulful, bluesy feel, his brand of country music has won him a legion of fans.
