Canadian Pop RockMarianas Trench formed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in 2001 while the members were still high school students. The band recorded a self-titled EP the same year, and the songs would later be re-released on its debut album, Fix Me, in 2006. The album produced three singles, but "Shake Tramp" was by far the most successful, having appeared on the Canadian Hot 100. 2009's Masterpiece Theatre was certified double platinum and debuted at No. 4. The album produced the singles "Cross My Heart," "All to Myself," "Beside You," "Celebrity Status" and "Good to You," all of which appeared on the Canadian Hot 100. The band released Ever After near the end of 2011 and was the first Marianas Trench album to appear on the US charts. It performed highest on the US Heatseekers albums, where it peaked at No. 5, and the Canadian Billboard 200, where it peaked at No. 8. The album produced some of the band's most notable songs, including "Fallout," "Stutter," "Desperate Measures," "By Now" and "Haven't Had Enough," which was its first top-10 single. 2015 was a busy year for the band as it released the EP Something Old/Something New, which included the single "Pop 101," followed by a full-length album entitled Astoria, which produced the singles "One Love," "This Means War" and "Who Do You Love." Marianas Trench began promoting the 2019 album Phantoms near the end of 2018, starting with the single "I Knew You When." It subsequently released "Only the Lonely Survive" and "Echoes of You" before the album in March. Most recently, Marianas Trench released the single "Glimmer" in June 2019.
