The State Bank Amphitheatre, located at Chastain Park, is a unique venue in that it only operates in the summer months. When construction was completed at the venue in 1944, the place was commonly known as the North Fulton Park Amphitheater, which is how the name stayed until 2007. The park that houses the Amphitheatre became known as Chastain Park only after the man who planned and started construction on the venue, Troy Green Chastain, passed away in 1946. The amphitheater became known as the Delta Classic Chastain Park Amphitheater in 2007 before the name changed again in 2018, to the name it now goes by. To keep things simple, locals often refer to the venue simply as "Chastain." The venue has seen many notable performers over the years, including ZZ Top, Aretha Franklin and Heart.
