The Book of Mormon Kalamazoo tickets

The Book of Mormon is a musical comedy created by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone, the minds behind South Park, teamed up with Lopez, who co-created the Tony-winning puppet musical Avenue Q, to build a show that blends irreverent humor with genuinely catchy songwriting. The story follows two missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sent to a remote Ugandan village, where their earnest optimism collides with a reality far more complicated than anything they trained for.

The show premiered on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre on March 24, 2011, with Andrew Rannells and Josh Gad in the lead roles. It took roughly seven years of development, including a half-dozen workshops and a research trip to Salt Lake City, before reaching the stage. The production came in under its expected $11 million budget at $9 million and quickly set ticket sales records at the Eugene O'Neill. The Book of Mormon has since grossed over $900 million worldwide, making it one of the most financially successful musicals ever staged. It has played more than 5,000 performances on Broadway alone and spawned productions across North America, London's West End, Australia, and beyond.
