Miami Dolphins in Foxborough tickets

The Miami Dolphins are the oldest professional sports franchise in Florida, founded in 1965 by Joe Robbie and Danny Thomas. The team began play in the American Football League in 1966 before joining the NFL through the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, and they compete in the AFC East division. The Dolphins play home games at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, a venue that underwent a $400 million renovation that replaced every seat and moved the lower level closer to the field.

The franchise's defining era came under head coach Don Shula, who led the team from 1970 to 1995 and holds the record for the most wins by a head coach in NFL history. During Shula's tenure, the Dolphins posted losing records in just two of his 26 seasons. The 1972 squad completed the only perfect season in NFL history, finishing 17-0 and capping the run with a victory in Super Bowl VII. Miami repeated as champions the following year in Super Bowl VIII, becoming the first team to appear in three consecutive Super Bowls and the first AFL/AFC team to win back-to-back titles. Quarterback Dan Marino, who played for the Dolphins from 1983 to 1999, became one of the most prolific passers the league has ever seen, breaking numerous NFL passing records and earning five division titles and ten playoff appearances during his career.

Attending a Dolphins game at Hard Rock Stadium means soaking in South Florida's signature mix of aqua, orange, and sunshine. The AFC East rivalry games against the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and New York Jets carry decades of history and consistently deliver some of the most competitive matchups on the schedule. The Dolphins faithful are known for their loud, loyal energy, and the team's fight song, "Miami Dolphins No. 1," has been a gameday staple since the 1972 championship run. Mascot T.D. has been a fixture on the sideline since 1997, keeping the crowd engaged from kickoff through the final whistle.
