Los Angeles Chargers in Seattle tickets

The Los Angeles Chargers are one of the oldest franchises in professional football, founded in 1959 as a charter member of the American Football League. The team originally launched in Los Angeles in 1960, relocated to San Diego a year later, and returned to Los Angeles in 2017 after 56 seasons in San Diego. That arc, from the early days of the AFL through the merger with the NFL in 1970 and beyond, makes the Chargers one of the more storied franchises in the league. Hotel heir Barron Hilton was the team's original owner, and the name "Chargers" was inspired by the "charge" chants heard at Dodger Stadium and USC football games.

The Chargers play at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, sharing the venue with the Los Angeles Rams. SoFi is one of the most modern stadiums in the NFL, and the atmosphere on game days carries the energy of a franchise building around a talented roster. The Don Coryell era defined the team's offensive identity, as the "Air Coryell" system turned the Chargers into one of the most exciting teams of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Quarterback Dan Fouts led the league in passing yards from 1978 to 1983 and again in 1985, and the team made four consecutive playoff appearances from 1979 to 1982. That high-flying philosophy has influenced the franchise's approach ever since, and the Chargers have continued to attract elite quarterback talent, from Philip Rivers to Justin Herbert.

Los Angeles Chargers tickets put you in the middle of genuine AFC West football. The division rivalry games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, and Denver Broncos carry real weight, with each matchup backed by decades of head-to-head history. The Chargers have nine players and two coaches enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including Lance Alworth, Dan Fouts, Junior Seau, LaDainian Tomlinson, Antonio Gates, and Don Coryell. Six numbers have been retired by the franchise: #14 (Dan Fouts), #18 (Charlie Joiner), #19 (Lance Alworth), #21 (LaDainian Tomlinson), #55 (Junior Seau), and #80 (Kellen Winslow). Whether it is a divisional showdown or a marquee non-conference game, the Chargers bring a combination of franchise history and present-day talent that makes SoFi Stadium worth the trip.
