Few programs in college football carry the pedigree of Florida State Seminoles Football. The Seminoles have claimed three national championships, 16 Atlantic Coast Conference titles, and three Heisman Trophy winners, and their 14 consecutive top-five finishes in the AP Poll from 1987 through 2000 still stand as an NCAA record. A set of Florida State Seminoles Football tickets for a home game at Doak Campbell Stadium puts you inside that history, surrounded by a crowd turned out in garnet and gold.
The roots run back to 1947, when football returned to a newly coeducational Florida State University in Tallahassee and the Seminole nickname was adopted. Doak Campbell Stadium opened in 1950, the same season the program logged its first unbeaten record, and the milestones stacked up from there: a first victory over Florida in 1964, a first major bowl bid, a first top-10 ranking, and the 1976 arrival of Bobby Bowden, who made Florida State the most successful team in college football during the 1990s. After joining the ACC in 1992, the Seminoles won nine straight conference championships, and Bowden's 1999 team went 12-0 while becoming the first in AP poll history to hold the No. 1 ranking from preseason through the postseason.
The championship standard carried into the next era. Jimbo Fisher's 2013 Seminoles finished a perfect 14-0 by rallying past Auburn in the final BCS National Championship Game, and Mike Norvell's 2023 squad completed an undefeated regular season and added another ACC title. The record books run deeper still: 41 consecutive winning seasons from 1977 through 2017, a college football record 36 straight bowl appearances from 1982 through 2017, and 54 consecutive home games without a loss from 1992 through 2001, one of only three decade-long home unbeaten streaks in the history of the sport. The largest crowd in stadium history, 84,431, came out for the 2014 visit from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
