Chicago Blackhawks in Raleigh tickets

The Chicago Blackhawks are one of the NHL's Original Six franchises, competing in professional hockey since 1926. Founded by coffee tycoon Frederic McLaughlin and named after the 86th Infantry Division's "Blackhawk Division," the team has called Chicago home for nearly a century. The Blackhawks play at the United Center, which they share with the Chicago Bulls, and have built one of hockey's most recognizable identities with six Stanley Cup championships to their name.

The franchise's history splits into two defining eras. In the Original Six period, stars like Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita formed one of the most feared duos in hockey, with Hull recording four 50-goal seasons and Mikita winning back-to-back scoring titles and MVP awards. Defenseman Pierre Pilote won three consecutive Norris Trophies, and goaltender Glenn Hall anchored the crease for a decade. That core delivered the 1961 Stanley Cup after toppling the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings in the playoffs.

The modern dynasty arrived under Rocky Wirtz's ownership, with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane leading the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013, and 2015. That six-year stretch cemented Chicago as one of hockey's premier franchises of the 21st century. The Blackhawks' biggest rivalries run through the Detroit Red Wings and the St. Louis Blues, matchups rooted in decades of divisional competition. Game nights at the United Center carry an atmosphere shaped by the tradition of roaring through the national anthem, a custom that dates back to the old Chicago Stadium.
